Sustainability, craftsmanship, excellence and authenticity are the values that define the Montesanco philosophy. These have allowed us to establish a tacit pact with the land and history and to achieve the best expression of the native varieties – Moscatel, Macabeo, Tempranillo and Bobal, from our plots, with organic and biodynamic vineyard management.

Sustainable projects benchmark
Since our beginnings we want our two wineries to be a benchmark for sustainable projects, for which we intervene in different areas throughout the winemaking process and from the field, in order to be able to pass on to future generations the best possible legacy.
From the practice of organic farming, inspired by the biodynamic philosophy and with specific programs for historical rainwater recovery systems, photovoltaic cell panels, waste recovery programs, carbon footprint minimization, biodiversity promotion, etc.
Time shows that we are on the right track.
Biodynamics
Biodynamic agriculture is a farming system that prioritizes the balance of the ecosystem and biodiversity in the vineyard, giving us the possibility of making wines that respect the landscape from which they originate.
Faithful to our commitment to respectfully work the land to obtain natural, expressive and richly nuanced fruit, we cultivate the vines using plant extracts made from horsetail, nettle and chamomile. We use these medicinal plants, through infusions, decoctions and macerations, to regulate the presence of fungi and stimulate the strains’ defenses.
Ecology
Our grapes are certified as organic by the CAE-CV (Organic Agriculture Committee of the Valencian Community).
We carry out treatments within a framework of organic viticulture, focusing on the minimum possible intervention in viticulture and the application, when necessary, of organic treatments.
Crafts
Traditional viticulture
At Montesanco we respect the know-how and knowledge of our ancestors, drawing inspiration from some of the traditional processes for the production of our artisanal wines.
A great wine is a reflection of the land where it was born, that is why we practice dry farming and cultivate our vineyards with traditional viticulture, hand harvesting, respectful pruning… This allows us to produce limited editions of unique and singular wines in which we take care of every detail.
Excellence
Single-varietal wines made from old indigenous vines
We seek the best expression of each native variety – Moscatel, Giro, Garnacha Blanca, Macabeo, Tempranillo and Bobal . Our vineyards of more than 60 years old and even centenary pre-phylloxera vines are one of the main pillars on which the personality and excellence of our wines are based.
Each of our vineyards requires meticulous work to always achieve the optimum ripening of the grapes; showing its varietal character, typicity and the personality of the terroir.
